The work in a constructivist manner is dedicated to a mournful occasion – the death of Lenin, the Bolshevik leader, in Gorky, near Moscow in 1924. In my opinion, this is the first variant of the well-known composition Gorky 1924, I, 16.50, which is kept in the Ludwig Museum (Cologne).
