El LISSITZKY (El Lissitsky/Lazar Lisitsky) (1890-1941)

Cubist composition by Lissitzky deals with his Kyiv period of 1919 and is one of his not numerous canvases. This picture was exhibited at the international exhibition Die Grosse Utopie, which went round the world (Germany, Holland, America, Russia, ...) in the 1990s. This work was shown at the exhibitions of Ukrainian avantgarde in Zagreb (1990-91), Munich and Toulouse (1993), Denmark (1996), as well as the exhibition entitled Europe-Europe (1995). The work is permanently exhibited in the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv). For a long time, this picture have been considered as anonymous.
